![]() I love this record.Ĭlick to expand.Lon, this kind of thread interests me. I decided to put in an Ellington before the video portion of the system takes over from the audio portion. it's not surprising that jazz lovers would also fall into similar patterns and groups. but then some persons never really grow out of or away from the music they first got excited about, and others really only like music for dancing or social reasons. ![]() Is it all jazz? I think many of us make our own definitions over time and we get locked into a pattern of listening and buying and exploring that excludes what another might call jazz. There's a huge panorama of music played by these artists and artists in the timeline between them. Sydney Bechet, Steve Lacy and Najee all play the soprano saxophone and all are claimed by someone or other to be a jazz artist. Jazz has always been plagued with a fuzziness of definition that creates problems. my tastes do change and evolve, quite a bit of what I listen to now I didn't in the past. I confess that I haven't been moved to explore much more but I will at some point in the future. But I don't know about many more and if they were discussed I may be inclined to check them out. I haven't explored that many and to be honest I haven't been too knocked out by many that I've heard. I'm willing to hear about these new artists if you want to talk about them. please do.Ĭlick to expand.I am glad you posted. I'm indulging my passion for music and stereo and just in a good place these days. (I guess I fall into that category whether I want to or not).Īnd I had a nice half a day setting up and listening to a new headphone amp and a new pair of headphones I received today. Both sound quite good to be honest, if you have one no real reason to get the other, unless you're just a hopeless Coltrane collector. but they sound a bit different than the US set. I'm not sure if these are new masterings or not. I really didn't need to buy this set but I found I couldn't resist. I'm listening to the second disc in the new SHM-CD version of "The Heavyweight Champion" box set of John Coltrane Atlantic recordings. Thought if we spell it out in the beginning that this is an open conversation then those who are somehow offended or bothered can participate elsewhere, and those who don't mind a conversation can have one. I personally prefer this sort of a thread to any other type of thread. I'd like to have a thread where you an talk about jazz AND other music that may be on your mind while listening to jazz, what you're thinking about while listening, how your day or life is going, just a conversation with jazz music going, like one might have in person. someone complains, posts are deleted, fingers are wagged. If you talk audio, or about instruments, or about the bad day you had, or how happy you are to be listening and relaxing, or anything else. There's the Jazz Beat, but you really can't have a conversation there, you can only talk about jazz. I thought I'd start a new thread and see if there is any interest in continuing it amongst other jazz listeners here.

The original soundtrack received a great deal of praise for its variety and excellence, and many of its tracks are fan favourites sufficient, in Japan at least, to support a series of concerts and CD albums. The battle system is not the only thing that has been left unchanged in the remastered version: the soundtrack has been faithfully presented and has not been modified in any way, unlike the updated ‘FF6-mobile-style’ visuals (the character sprites have been ‘smoothed’, as the images above show). The pixel art from the original is not the only thing modified in the remake… …in addition, the soundtrack has been re-recorded and updated. Dead characters can be revived at a cost of 1LP, but if LP reaches 0 then the character is permanently deceased, with the exception of one particular character, a vampire, who comes with other limitations. When a character reaches 0hp, further damage taken decreases LP. The system behind this is quite complicated, but there are several guides (and an official strategy guide) which address the system in more or less detail. There are even special chain attacks that can occur when multiple character utilise synergistic skills together. Skills are performed with SP, and new weapon skills are learned by performing attacks with the desired weapon. Weapons have a set number of uses, as in other SaGa games. In addition, the remaster also adds an entirely new scenario–that of the character Fuse, an agent of the Interpol-like agency, IRPO, which features prominently in the other scenarios.īattles are turn-based, with each character acting once per turn. Some stories are longer than others, although the original events have been somewhat modified with additions for the remaster. The scenarios vary extensively, with some being comparatively linear (T260) whilst others are extremely open-ended by the standards of the day (Blue). Each character has their own self-contained storyline which will overlap and share party members with the other character stories. ![]() The scenario system is SaGa Frontier‘s most well-known attribute: the title screen gives way to a character selection which places the player in the role of the chosen character. SaGa Frontier… …and SaGa Frontier Remastered. More akin to the Romancing SaGa games is the character recruitment system which limits the characters that one can encounter in any single playthrough based on the choices made by the player in the course of the various scenarios. Consequently, early overlevelling can be a serious error which greatly increases later game difficulty, rendering the game almost impossible to complete. One major change in SaGa Frontier as compared to the earlier games in the series is the scaling of enemies to party level. Viewed in this light, SaGa Frontier adapts and evolves the gameplay of Romancing SaGa 3, and moves it from the pixel-art style of Super Nintendo JRPGs to the pre-rendered backgrounds and sprites of the PlayStation era. In fact, SaGa Frontier builds upon the development choices made in the Romancing games, and is best understood as an evolution of those games rather than as an entirely new direction for the series. Released in North America before the localisation of any of the earlier Super Nintendo Romancing SaGa titles, it caused considerable consternation amongst American gamers whose earlier experience with the series had been limited to the three Game Boy SaGa games, all of which were more traditional in design. SaGa Frontier is the seventh game in the SaGa series, a franchise of games well known for their esoteric design choices. A physical version, with English support, is forthcoming in Asia. ![]() The new remastered version, which expands the game content in addition to updating the visual and audio presentation, digitally released 15 April 2021 (for Switch, PS4, Windows, iOS, and Android), is both the first multiplatform and the first world-wide release of the game. ![]() Hello and welcome to The Starlight Megaphone’s playthrough of SaGa Frontier and SaGa Frontier Remastered, a JRPG originally released for the Sony Playstation in Japan on 11 July 1997, and then released in North America at the end of March 1998. ![]() This step isn’t required but it’s good practice to limit the users that can update an issue to those associated with the project.Ħ. This is not ideal because you want to see other windows (Teams for example) on the primary monitor. The presenter view will also occupy the whole screen of monitor 1. You will also see the Presenter View on the primary monitor. The presentation will be shown full screen on monitor 2. Presenting on the secondary monitorįirst choose PowerPoint – Slide Show tab (menu) – Secondary monitor (monitor name). Remember the shortcut Windows Shift Right arrow or Left arrow. That is clumsy and irritates the audience. This should NOT be done by dragging the title bar of windows. And then, choose additional settings… Moving windows from one monitor to another To enable the taskbar on secondary display, enable the above setting. That way you do not get confused about which application is running where. If you want to show some applications other than the presentation on the secondary display, it is better to display the taskbar on the secondary display itself. Secondary screen does not need a taskbar. If you only want to display a presentation on the second monitor then make sure the taskbar is shown only on the primary screen. In Windows – Settings – Taskbar, there are some very important options about Taskbar. So the mouse cursor will get stuck in top right corner of screen 1 and you will get thoroughly frustrated. Why? Because the resolution of monitor 1 is more than that of monitor 2. If there is mismatch in resolutions – as show below, the mouse cursor will NOT move to monitor 2 if you are in the top right corner of monitor 1. If you do not understand this and set it correctly, you will get confused about how to move the mouse cursor between monitors. Now, when you move the mouse cursor to the top edge of monitor 1, it will appear from the bottom of the monitor 2 and vice versa. Suppose you have set it with monitor 2 is above monitor 1 as shown below. How do you tell this to Windows? You actually drag the monitor box (1 or 2) in Windows Display settings and move it where it actually is in the real world. In either case, you must tell windows how these two displays are located next to each other – side by side, one on top and one below or whatever is the layout. Usually one laptop screen and one external monitor. This is a very important step which is often missed leading to confusion of cursor movement. Adjust position of dual screens in Windows Display settings So it is always better to use a lower resolution to maximize clarity and visibility – especially if you are going to show live demos and not just presentations. This way you can optimize bandwidth.Īlso remember if your audience has a lower resolution screen or a mobile phone, they cannot see very small font. ![]() Else, use the lowest possible setting for your needs. If bandwidth is limited and if your content can fit, I have found 1600 x 900 to be adequate. To avoid confusion, set resolution of both monitors to same setting.
